It’s here. The crispness in the air, the faint smell of pumpkin starts to fill all of your favorite coffee shops, apples dawn the home decor. Fall. Yes! Maybe you’re ready for it and maybe you’re not.
Fall means back to school is here, football season has ‘kicked off,’ but is also means the dreaded ‘W’ word is on the way. BUT, let’s not talk about that!
Fall, yes, let’s get back to fall.
We’ve recently stocked up on our fall scented candles and even pulled out the Halloween goodies!
We are REALLY excited about our newest line – Rosy Rings.
Rosy Rings started in my basement over twenty years ago. Surrounded by five cats and the chug chug of a washing machine, I poured my first candles. My tools: a tiny crock pot and a few dented molds. My ingredients: chunks of sticky beeswax, vials of fragrance and an assortment of dried flowers and fruit. It wasn’t until I came up with the original Spicy Apple Botanical candle that I knew I was onto something.
Since those humble days things have changed a lot. We moved into our current 30,000 square foot facility. We buy wax by the ton instead of by the case. I own a forklift.
However, some things have stayed the same: like I still make runs for lunch and toilet paper. Seriously though, we still hand produce all of our candles right here in Denver, and a few tweaks notwithstanding, we still make them the same way we did 20 years ago.
Take our Botanical Candles: Turn one over and you’ll see it’s actually two candles. The entire process of pouring, stuffing, repouring, melting the edges, wrapping it and the countless other tasks take two whole days! And because this point bears repeating: all of this is done by hand.
Living in an urban area and working in an industrial corridor I understand how difficult it can be to connect to the beauty of nature. Candlemaking has always been a way for me to bring elements of the outdoors into my home. A scoop of lavender, a humble bowl of dried leaves or an illuminated botanical candle are all small reminders of the beauty the natural world offers us.
From shells to fruit to assorted fauna, you’ll find them all inside our products. Since our line is inspired by nature it’s only fitting that we do our best to treat the environment responsibly. We’re committed to using natural products like beeswax and soy wax. Our glassware contains 40% recycled glass and our tins contain 30% post-consumer recycled content. In addition to recycling most of the plastic, metal, glass and cardboard in our facility, we also use biodegradable shipping popcorn and when possible reuse shipping materials.
We have chosen to carry the scents “Forest” & “Spicy Apple.” Click here to learn more!

Check out this candle below. It burns for 300 hours and has a replaceable center. Our account representative told us she has had her candle for over 20 years!

We are still very committed to the Milkhouse line! We will continue to carry and love this great brand from Iowa.
As we are thinking about the future Bed and Breakfast, we were searching for a signature scent with a decorative touch. Rosy Rings provided just that for us.
Be sure to stop in this week to check out what’s new!
Until Next Time,
